Who Will Be the Star Player of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa?

The country that progresses to at least the semi-finals will produce the star player of the South Africa World Cup 2010. Italy in 1990 unmasked the talent of Toto Schillaci and Roger Milla who guided the teams into the latter stages of the tournament. This time around, the world will be watching. Top of the bill will be Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and David Villa. Dider Drogba could well take the world by storm and walk away with the golden boot.

Wayne Rooney is the best hope for England to make it to their first world cup semi-finals since 1990. In Rooney, England have a player who is capable of helping his country win the elusive golden trophy. This season Rooney has scored more that 30 goals in all competitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the world's most high-priced footballer when he signed for Real Madrid from Manchester United for a price of £80 million. Given the talent he has at his disposal he will easily be a star performer for Portugal. Although he may find it hard to carry his team to the knock-out stages as Portugal are in the group of death with Brazil and Ivory Coast so may well face an early elimination from the tournament

Lionel Messi, the exiguous genius from Argentina will surely light up the World Cup with his mesmerising runs. Argentina are a team blessed with star players and that will help Messi to shine. Messi is able to draw 3 or 4 players to him, thus providing space for his team-mates to exploit.

David Villa is capable of winning the golden boot. He has a prolific scoring record at international level. Having just moved to Barcelona he will be looking to fabricate an even greater understanding with Xavi. Like in the Euro Championships, I expect him to be near or at the top of the goal scoring charts.

Dider Drogba could well become a star at the ripe old age of 32. He was a late bloomer and like Roger Milla of Cameroon, he will end up scoring a hat full of goals in South Africa. The man from Chelsea scored an fabulous 29 goals in the English Premiership so will be safe bet going in to the world cup.

Germany lead the clinical efficiency and the Teutonic power to their game. You know what it takes to win a World Cup.

Rooney Skills 2011

European nations, Spain and Portugal, the eternal underachievers, but this time they were in PortugalCristiano Ronaldo in their ranks when he powered the ball at the right time, has the talent to score goals opportunistically.

Football is a great leveler. No matter whether you are an economic superpower or a Third World country. What matters is your ability on the pitch and your desire to bring joy into your country. Brazil is really big here. The United States is also a force to be reckoned with. It's 14 best football nation in the world, has no business sense for a country whereRugby, basketball and baseball rule.

South Africa has done himself proud and Africa by the First Nations of this continent to host the World Cup. The country is a sport-loving nation and certainly put on a great show, with the home team and guest. Slovenia, Greece, Sweden, etc., are the dark horses. These teams, the calculations in their respective groups excited.

And of course there is Italy - the defending champions. The land of the famous football clubs like ACMilan, Rome and Naples, little is known yet, Maradona has the skills to dizzying heights with his superior. You can count on their best defensive forward and then put a counter-attack if given a chance.

Overall, the 2010 World Cup promises new avenues in the spread of breaking down in a good football game, and do, just do what football can bring people together.
